The National Seafood Chef of the Year Competition was officially launched at the Grimsby Institute.
The launch luncheon held at the Institute's Gallery Restaurant was attended by key figures from Seafood Grimsby and the Humber Seafood Cluster Board and competition Sponsors including The Norwegian Seafood Council organisation.
The National Seafood Chef of the Year Competition celebrates exceptional talent within seafood culinary. It provides a platform for young chefs in education and training across the nation to showcase their skills, creativity, and passion for seafood cuisine.
"We are thrilled to launch The National Seafood Chef of the Year Competition here at the Grimsby Institute," said Carrie-Anne Vaughan of The Grimsby Institute . "We have been the custodian of this competition for 27 years and it provides an opportunity to demonstrate the culinary excellence of young seafood chefs across the UK."
The competition will feature a series of rigorous culinary challenges that will put the skills of participating young chefs to the test. Judged by a panel of esteemed industry experts, including renowned seafood chefs and connoisseurs, contestants will compete for the prestigious title of National Seafood Chef of the Year.
"We are once again excited to be part of this competition that celebrates the artistry and innovation of seafood cuisine," said Dr Henrietta Boyd of sponsor Fishmongers' Company's Fisheries Charitable Trust. "The competition will undoubtedly showcase the culinary talents of young aspiring chefs."
The National Seafood Chef of the Year Competition heats commence in May with the final in Grimsby on Friday 7th June.
